TRUS ("we," "us," or "our") operates jointrus.com, a platform that helps people discover trusted professionals and businesses through authentic recommendations from real people. Information you submit in a recommendation. When you recommend someone, we collect the information you provide: the recommended person's name, profession, business name, and city/state; your written reason for recommending them; your relationship to them; and, optionally, your own name and email address.

Early access signups. If you join our early access list, we collect your email address.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting providers automatically log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used for security and to operate the site.

TRUS is built on recommendations, which means users may submit information about professionals and businesses who have not themselves visited our site. This typically includes name, profession, business name, city/state, and the recommender's description of their experience.

If you are a professional who has been recommended on TRUS and you would like to review, correct, or request removal of information about you, contact us at hello@jointrus.com and we will respond promptly.

We use the information we collect to operate the platform: storing and (in the future) publishing recommendations, building professional profiles, notifying you about early access and platform updates, responding to inquiries and removal requests, moderating content, and keeping the service secure. If you provide your email with a recommendation, we may send you a confirmation and occasional updates about TRUS. Every marketing email includes a way to opt out.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.

We use a small number of service providers to run the site: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database hosting), Resend (transactional email), and Cloudflare (domain and network services). These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of TRUS, our users, or others.

The core purpose of TRUS is to make trusted recommendations discoverable. When our public directory launches, approved recommendations — including the recommended professional's name, profession, business, city, and the substance of the recommendation — may be displayed publicly. Your own name and email address are not displayed publicly unless we ask for and receive your permission.

We retain recommendations and early access signups while they remain useful for operating the platform. You may request deletion of your information at any time by emailing hello@jointrus.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. We honor reasonable requests from anyone regardless of location: email hello@jointrus.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

TRUS is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use reputable infrastructure providers and reasonable technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will provide more prominent notice.
